Exhibition RABUZIN / ETCHINGS, WATERCOLOURED ETCHINGS AND AQUATINTS

From March 27 till April 16, 2006, the exhibition Rabuzin / Etchings, Watercoloured Etchings and Aquatints was held in the Croatian Museum of Naïve Art. The opening was at the same time, in the presence of the artist, one of greatest lyric painters of the twentieth century and a classic of the world’s Naïve, a celebration of his 85th birthday. The catalogue printed to go with the exhibition reproduces all Rabuzin’s etchings and aquatints produced in the 1980-2001 period, while some thirty exhibits will actually be on show in the exhibition. As well as having the significance of marking a great occasion, the exhibition is particularly important for presenting the first systematic treatment of the artist’s work in intaglio printing. Although some of the pieces have already been shown and published, this was the first integral presentation of this part of Rabuzin’s oeuvre.
