At the end of 1998 the CMNA launched a series of Bio-bibliographies, in which three books have so far been published – Skurjeni (1998), Feješ (2001) and Virius (2004). Each contains a short introductory text in five languages (Croatian, English, French, German and Italian), where the essential facts from the artist’s biography are given, the stylistic and poetic characteristics of his work are given, and a brief outline is given of the reception.
The collection and classification of the complete documentation of each individual artist is important not only for the masters mentioned, but for the Naive in general, for it constitutes a database of all the relevant exhibitions and the overall bibliography of this specific segment of the art of the 20th century. Since each book includes a list of works and reproductions of all the works of the given author from the collection of the CMNA, the books also function as guides to the Museum’s holdings. In conjunction with the launches of the Feješ and Virius books, chamber critical exhibitions of these artists were put on in the Museum.
